>> reporter: good morning. mike pence will be here at clearwater aviation later today. one issue he will likely touch on, hillary clinton's emails and this latest twist. now overnight, we learned the united states justice department obtained a warrant to search a computer belonging to anthony weiner. he is being investigating for allegedly sexting with a teenage girl. emailsemails from the clinton aide are believed to computer. the fbi director announced the find in a letter to congress on friday. it comes about with about a week left in the presidential campaign and sent clinton's team scrabbling. listen here. >> is the biggest political scandal since watergate. >> it's pretty strange to put

before an election. >> reporter: and we're told more information on the emails could potentially be released later today. again, governor mike pence will be here to speak to supporters at a hanger here at clearwater aviation. the event gets underway at 6:00 but doors open at 4:00. tickets at this point are still available. back to you. >> that's surprising. i thought they would be sold out by now. we will be watching. and the house could come down to florida. both candidates plan to campaign hard right until the very end. hillary clinton will campaign in tampa tomorrow at a get out the vote event. and her husband, former president bill clinton the will be in pinellas county tomorrow. and on wednesday, vice president joe biden will stump for clinton in tampa while president barack obama campaigns across the state in jacksonville. for the trump campaign, as ryan just reported, vice presidential candidate mike

only goes through tuesday, we expect the campaign to return to our area before election day. well, florida of course is most certainly a battleground state but hillsborough county may be the battleground county. >> yeah, whoever carries hillsborough tends to win it all. the county's majority vote has correctly predicted the winner in 19 out of the last 20 presidential elections. meredyth censullo is in the news center this morning with more on why this part of election. >> reporter: well, gayle, political analysts consider hillsborough county a key county, not just for our state, but across the u.s. the county's balance of registered democrats, republicans, and independents makes it one to watch. both the trump and clinton campaigns have made multiple visits to hillsborough county in the past few weeks and as you have heard, that's going to continue as both candidates

cast their ballots. more than 232,000 votes have been cast and mail-in ballots and early vote manage hillsborough so far. and so far, democrats lead republicans in voter turn-out by 17%. a closer look at the numbers here, just over 86,000 republicans have voted compared to about 100,000 democrats. that's a difference of more than 14,000 votes so far. help decide our next president. >> that close and that means, your vote matters that much. remember, the entire election in 2000 was settled by 547 votes here in florida and decided who was president of the united states for the next eight years. >> reporter: any news that comes out by the candidates could be the reason why one or the other walks away with the win and that is why you will see a lot of clinton and trump

gayle -- >> yeah, and the bay area, we get to see a lot of both candidates. thank you, meredyth. well, donald trump is continuing to question the fairness of this election. he is raising doubts about the validity of colorado's mail-in votes. in colorado, all registered voters receive a ballot but can request a new one or vote in person. this weekend, trump encouraged supporters to get a new one in ballot. get your new ballot. and you can make sure it gets in. in some places, they probably do the that four or five times but we don't do the. that but that's great. >> critics say trump's comments might encourage those who have already voted to vote again. but the trump campaign is to make sure that everyone's vote is counted. and other news this morning, tampa police are

gunfire broke out at the tampa hotel on north 22nd street. one man died but a second man is expected to survive. investigators explain it's not an accidental shooting and they are not searching for suspects. a sarasota church is on edge after an armed robbery in the church parking lot. and now the church is telling people to be aware and walk together. this happened at the church of the a man approached him. listen to how he describes what happened. >> and there was a man standing next to the my car. and he said he wanted some help and wanted some money. and i said, no, that i don't have any. and he grabbed me by the arm. and that's when i reached in my pocket and took the $10 bill that i had out. because that's all i had. >> he was able to get away.

tomorrow. 85 wednesday. and notice that cold front coming through on friday and dropping us to the upper 70s by the weekend. and making emoji man smile. and now traffic on the 8s. yeah, pasco county and manatee county, that's the hot spots right now. bay area interstates look good. let's talk about these issues. manatee county, unfortunately, we're waking up to a fatal crash. this is right at the edge of hardee county but it's on state road 64. and we've got both directions of 64 blocked road. not a lot of vehicles on this rural road in particular area. what you can do is use state road 62. they're saying both directions are completely blocked here. think 62 instead of 64 for the morning commute out. there and meanwhile, here in pasco county, northbound old lakeland highway, everything is off to the side of the roadway. it's not tying up lanes but serious crash here at,ttis

back to gene and gayle. >> thank you. a blow to the bucs and bucs fans after a heart breaking loss in overtime. the bucs went into the second half ahead. the bucs answered with a touchdown and had a chance to tie it up but they missed the extra point. the pirates didn't give up though. they took the lead with a touchdown and two-point conversion. but then the final blow. the raiders tie the game and in overtime, score a touchdown to n around now. they host the falcons thursday night here at home. the bucs now have three wins and four losses and are second place in their division. the cubs live to see another day, forcing a game six back in cleveland tomorrow night. the cubbies got a huge outing from starting pitcher john lester who only allowed one hit and two earned runs through six innings.

mary mcguire is live at the school this morning. and it's been a difficult road of recovery for him. >> reporter: yeah, it's not been an easy past few months. not only did he have to deal with the loss of his girlfriend but he's had to focus on his recovery after the crash. he and his girlfriend were driving home from the movies on august 14th when it happened. pinellas park police say bryce mccloud was impaired when he hit the couple block of park boulevard. the couple was rushed to the hospital where she passed away from her injuries. >> you would never think just driving from a movie that something would happen like this. and now i'm trying to get back on the road. i'm just super, almost, i don't want to the say paranoid but it's nerve racking. >> reporter: now the driver of that car that crashed into

with dui manslaughter. since the crash, he has been advocating against drunk driving and will participate in a mothers against drunk driving 5k in november. they have created a team in memory of caroline and he is expected to return to work a little bit later this morning, gayle. >> he's had some physical healing and definitely emotional healing to do. thank you, mary. creepy clown concerns are putting parents on edge this morning. some parents even plan to carry with their kids. one woman claims she's going to exercise her second amendment right and carry a gun. a mom says she will carry a baseball bat. this follows a nationwide trend of people in creepy clown costumes scaring entire communities. last week, two men were arrested for threatening and chasing people while dressed as clowns. a 3-year-old boy is recovering after a television fell on him.

office tells us the tv fell off a dresser. we are making calls this morning to get an update on the boy's condition. and a newly released video is making headlines across america. it shows the chaotic scene when a deranged man charged through security, see it there, at the airport in new orleans. it happened last year. the video obtained by louisiana newspaper, the advocate, shows 63-year-old richard white swinging a a deputy shot white three times. he died in the hospital the next day after refusing medical treatment. the video was just released as part of an investigation. 4:48 on this monday morning. getting the ghouls and goblins ready for halloween. >> look at max defender 8, just clear skies. trying to find rain. good news for the trick-or- treater, should be great
